The ALIENS - LUNA (birdman) - Formed by three founding members of defunct UK experimental folk-rock-electronic act, The Beta Band. The Aliens are described as “psychedelically inclined rock and acid dipped electronics”. Check out their site and their label, Pet Rock Records.
APHEX TWIN - Unreleased Promo Dec ‘04 (no label!) - A typical mysterious release from electronic music pioneer, Richard D. James. Silver label on vinyl with Aphex Twin sticker on white cardboard sleeve. Hand-numbered out of 500. No other information, except: 4 tracks for a total of 21 minutes.
COACHWHIPS/INTELLIGENCE - Split 7″ (omnibus) - Heavyweight vinyl. Side-A is The Coachwhips “Ringing the Chowbell” and “Brains Out”, side-B is The Intelligence vs. Karate Party.
EAGLE TWIN - The Unkindness of Crows (southern lord) - Brian in Maleveller swears this is good.
FERGUS & GERONIMO - Blind Muslim Girl 7″ (tic tac totally) - The Second 7″ from Dentron vintage pop duo, which features Andrew from Teenage Cool Kids and Jason of Wax Museums. Order direct to receive a ‘gold’ 45 version, although, in person it appears to be yellow. Here is an mp3 from the First single on Woodsist, “Harder Than It’s Ever Been” via cat bird seat.
GIRLS - Lust for Life 7″ (true panther sounds) - I have mentioned this before: True Panther Sounds is a new boutique label from Matador Records; they have music from Hunx & His Punx and Lemonade coming out. This is a re-issued single for Lust for Life, but with a new B-side, “Life in San Francisco”. Mp3 of “Lust for Life” via Matador.
JACUZZI BOYS/WOVEN BONES - Split 7′ (needless) - The first release by Needless Records features Austin band Woven Bones (guitar/organ/drums/vocals) and Florida’s Jacuzzi Boys.

The PAINS OF BEING PURE AT HEART - Higher Than The Stars (slumberland) - 5 song ep on CD, but only 4 if you get the vinyl. Features remix by Saint Etienne.
TY SEGALL/MIKAL CRONIN - Pop Songs ep 7″ (goodbye boozy) - Italian garage/punk label issues Ty Segall’s third split record this year; the first was a Telephone Explosion 12″ with BLACK TIME and then a Woodsist 7″ with Thee Oh Sees. Limited to a pressing of 300.
KURT VILE - He’s Alright 7″ (matador) - “Philly’s constant hitmaker’s” debut single for Matador Records. Features 3 tracks on light blue vinyl. Free with pre-order of Childish Prodigy from Matador.
WATER FALLS - Sleep Experts (self) - CDr from Dallas experimental outfit, featuring members of The Theater Fire and Eyes, Wings and Many Other Things. Seven somber songs supply an atmospheric background for an East Asian trance in a span of 45 minutes. I wish the songs had bled together, otherwise this is worth checking out. Will be released on colored vinyl by Mis Ojos Discos in February.

EL PASO HOT BUTTON - Keep Your EYES Quiet (little mafia) - Final release by Norman, Oklahoma’s one-man blues and noise garage act. Touring with Experimental Dental School in September, which stops at the Lounge on Elm St on the 24th and was picked up as local support to play with Wavves on October 9th (also at the Lounge due to Pastime backing out of All Ages shows).
MASERATI - Passages (temporary residence ltd) - Eight organic and fluid “psych-dance-rock’ tracks, intentionally expansive, upbeat and toggling between synthpop and electro. Passages is a collection of previously released Maserati tracks, such as “Join Us, Mystic Sister” & “No More Sages” from the Zombi/Maserati Split 12″ and Thee Loving Hand’s version of “Inventions” from the Inventions Remixes 12″; remixes by Steve Moore of Zombi and Justin Van Der Volgen (formerly of Out Hud and !!!) included as well. Touring with Mono in October, making a stop in Dentron on October 16th.

CPC GANGBANGS - Kill Yourself for Rock n Roll 7″ (dusty medical) - “Kill Yourself for Rock N Roll” was produced by Gar Wood of Hot Snakes/Night Marchers.



BATTLETORN/DOUBLE NEGATIVE – Split EP 7” (volcom) – Second release from the 2009 Volcom Ent. Vinyl Club. Black vinyl, hand-numbered out of 500. Features three vicious tracks from trash-punk duo, BaTTleTorn and three from hardcore metal act -/- (aka Double Negative).
HARVEY MILK/WILDILDLIFE – Split 7” (volcom) – White vinyl. Third release for the 2009 sub; hand-numbered out of 550, I think it is suppose to be 500 like the rest of the series. Listen to “
