Design and Silkscreen printing by Sam Heimer

Dear Citizens,
Lately I have heard some nasty & untrue, yet funny stuff from certain people, so I thought to start a shit list… But to clarify, these people are not on MY shit list, I AM ON THEIRS:
Kara from Darktown Strutters@
Wes from Darktown Strutters (but mainly kara)
Melissa Humpries from Melissas Deluxe*
Wanz Dozer from ???? (too many bands to type)^
Shane English from his bedroom%
Courtney Guzman from Hotel Zsa Zsa#
@ - needs $50 for drawing 4 people and comping 3 of them to a show.
* - Please tell me what is ‘deluxe’ about this? Their vaginas?
^ - Wanz quote: “I am going to spit in (john’s) face, next time I see him” (Good luck with that!)
% - I have no clue why.
# - She killed someone while drunk driving, but got off. Our justice system at work. Her finest quote “I would rather be a murderer than a whore”.
Personally, I don’t have a shit list. I would rather just vent and be direct with a person than bottle it up and talk bad about them. If you bottle it up, then you create a worse scenario in your head. To each his own.
If I am on your shit list and you would like to be public about it, then please let me know or let someone else know (it will come back to me eventually).
Take Care Yall,
johnis

This past Saturday, I videotaped a few songs from Titus Andronicus’ instore at Good Records in the afternoon and a few from their show at Club Dada later that evening. I also filmed the final three tracks from the headliners, Los Campesinos!. After the show, three members of Titus Andronicus interviewed each other, which I will be posting later this week. For now, I have Los Campesinos! performing “We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed”:

This past week . . .

The EGYPTIAN LOVER – One Track Mind cassette (egyptian empire)
My friend found this piece of shit tape on a recent road trip. It’s only amusing if you know me personally, but how could you disregard this classic release, with such cleverly titled tracks such as “You’re So Fine”, “The Dark Side of Egypt”, “Livin’ on the Nile” and “Freak-a-holic”, and that was just the A-Side!
FOL CHEN - Part I: John Shade, Your Fortune’s Made (asthmatic kitty)
Fol Chen’s album seems to jump all over the place by blending elements from various genres, and not in a bad way, sort of like a Bran Van 3000 or a Cornelius album. I listened to it straight through and found it enjoyable on the first run. Some of the standout tracks were “No Wedding Cake”, “Cable TV” and “Winter, That’s All”. Could suffice fans of Yatch, Hot Chip, maybe even Shiny Toy Guns.“No Wedding Cake” mp3
LOS CAMPESINOS! – We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed (arts & crafts) – Deluxe Version with DVD. I feel obligated to buy merchandise when I am comped to a show.
MI AMI – Echononecho EP 12” + mp3 (quarterstick) First single off the forthcoming Watersports. This recent interview I conducted with band has an extraordinary description of their work that slays anyone else’s summation.
TAPES & TAPES - The Loon cassette – (xl) Everyone seems to love vinyl again. Why not show some love to analog tapes? Tapes & Tapes on tape, duh.
TAPES & TAPES - Hang Them All 7” (?) – White label promo bonus for purchasing their new LP. See why I bought the Los Campesinos! Album.
WAVVES – Wavves LP 12” (woodsist)
I bought this because Wavves is playing my South by South Flesh festival in March and I wanted to listen to his tunes on something other than a myspace music player. Also, all Wavves 7” releases are really hard to attain because he is currently hot and ‘blogworthy’. I bet it’s being bought up by pricks that don’t even own a turntable.
